END OF SUMMER - AUGUST 2020

Our camping trip for August was to a brand new location, for us.  We spent 4 nights at the Frio River at a campsite called Neal's Lodge.  Boy, is the name of the river right on the money?!  It was super cold.  But, we all still had a great time playing in the water, fishing & just hanging out.  Jett, Delilah & Owen even went down the huge slide that dumped them out into the middle of the river.  Diesel was pretty unsure about all of the people and the water but he's quickly becoming a huge fan of camping.

Once we got home from camping it was time to start thinking about the new school year.  We decided, due to Covid-19, that we would continue on with Distance Learning from home.  It was a very tough decision BUT with spikes in cases, Rich's job & Grandy's age, we just felt like this was the safer choice.
I started out by decorating the 3-tier tray with back-to-school decorations & making their "back to school" signs. Next, school shopping (which, honestly, with them staying home, they didn't need much) and then IHOP for a pancake dinner.  For dessert, we ran the Twins by the KONA Ice truck for sno-cones.  Then, we made sure that everything was perfect in the game room that we converted into their temporary "classroom".
Before school started we were able to squeeze in just a little more fun.  Jett had his VERY first sleep
over with Behren Weidner & Delilah had his sister, Ava, over to spend the night with us.  Both kids had an absolute blast with their sweet friends!
Attending Behr's birthday party, on the river, was THE perfect way to end our amazing summer.
Rich & I were also able to squeeze in a little day-date.  Some dear friends of ours, the Bivens, started a Wine Tour Bus business.  We were one of the very lucky couples to be able to go along for their Maiden Voyage, to Fredericksburg, to check out a few of the wineries.
A few more pictures of our precious Diesel, and one of his parents.
The night before the first day of school it's totally necessary to have icecream sundaes for dessert!

Cinnamon rolls in the shape of a 4 is how 4th grade starts around here! Then, TONS of pictures before logging in for class!  School definitely looks different this year!
A few final photos from August...
