GOOD BYE 5TH GRADE

 MAY 2022

May means the last month of school.  The end of 5th grade.  The last semester of being at Arlon Seay Elementary School.  Whew! This has all gone so fast for me.

Of course the month gets started at 90 miles per hour.  First up, Meet The Coach for the Swim Team.  Jett & Delilah decided to try something new & test their skills in competition swimming.  We met at the high school to meet their coach and try on their swim trunks & suit. Soon after, practices started.

I was able to sneak away for an afternoon for lunch and drinks with some dear friends.
My little Buddy, Jett Carlson, was recognized at school, in front of everyone, for being such an awesome kid.
A little example of the fun stuff that they learned in Art class:
Baseball & softball continues.  Practices, batting lessons & games. While Jett's season ended Delilah's team won and continued on to the play-off's.

At the end of Jett's season, Uncle Clarence, Milo & Brisa came to support him & cheer his team on.  Afterwards, we celebrated with a yummy dinner at Chili's.  I'm so very proud of Jett, how much he's learned but most importnantly what an incredible attitude he ALWAYS has & the supportive team player that he is!
Our kiddos are such rock stars!  For the 6th grade talent show Jett & Delilah played their guitars & sang The Duck Song.  They did sooo good & had the entire lunchroom singing along with them.  Way to go, babies!!
Mother's Day is most definitley one of my favorite days.  I get to celebrate a dream come true... becoming a Mommy to my amazing children. We celebrated with mimosa's, good food, family & friends.

End of season softball treats for the girls on Delilah's team:
And preparing for end of year friend &Teacher gifts.  We appreciate all that they did over the year to help our kids grow.
A little day-dating for Rich & I...
For most of Delilah's time in elementary school, with the exception of 4th grade, when they completed the school year via remote learning, she has been a part of the Student Council.  Our little girl is a true leader.  They celebrated the STUCO year with a pizza party.
LOTS of end-of-year things.  Next up was the Arlon Seay Carnival.  It was super hot but we made the best of it.  Jett & Delilah played games, rode a few rides & hung out with their sweet friends.
No surprise to us, since Delilah is continually walking around with a book OR TWO in her hands, she was recognized for being an excellent Reader!  Our hearts burst with pride.
All kids in school go through some sort of DARE program.  DARE is the time where children/students learn about drugs; how dangerous they are; and of course, all of the havoc that they can cause in a person's life.  Jett wrote one of the best Paragraphs about the course & was recognized by the Officer as having such.  This kid is A-OK!!!
Track & Field Day is always one of the kids favorite days.  And this year was even more fun as Delilah was chosen to stay on the field the entire day, helping out with ALL students, while they participated in the events.
We've lived in our Spring Branch home for almost 7 years.  This year is the first time that we have found a baby deer in our yard.  It must have only been days old and could barely walk. It was the most precious thing!  It wasn't long before Momma came back for her cutie.
The entire 5th grade had one last HOORAH before the end of the year.  They played games, watched movies and ate pizzas with all of their besties.  This is such a great group of kiddos.
5TH GRADE GRADUATION DAY!  Wow, what a day!!  Jett & Delilah walked the stage in front of all of their piers and their families.  All of their accomplishments were read out one by one.  Both of them remained on the straight A honor roll & Accelerated Readers.  They were on the Chess Club & Delilah was a Student Council Representative.  They accomplished sooo much over this year & truly grew inside and out.
We were completely blown away when Delilah was called up on stage and awarded the prestigious School Medal by the American Legion.  This represents her core values of Courage, Honor, Leadership, Patriotism, Scholarship & Service.

After the graduation ceremony we surprised the Twins with gifts & a special lunch in downtown SA, at the Tower Of America's.  Mom & Dad celebrated, too!
After celebrating, I decided to do something that I had been thinking about for quite some time.  I got my nose pierced!  And it was so special to have my family there.
The 5th grade teachers sent home this memorabelia for all of the students.
Me & a couple of other 5th grade Moms, Johnnie & Denise, decided to throw an end of year bash for these amazing kids.  We rented out Revo Sports, brought a bunch of snacks, pizza, drinks & cookies & just let the kids play!  For some, it was the last time that they'd see some of their friends for a while, since some of them will be attending a different Middle School.

We had one LAST end of Season "thing" in May.  We had the whole baseball team over for a swim party.  These kids worked so hard this Season and it felt good to see them let loose & just have fun.
Whew!!  This has been a LOT!  What a busy month! But, oh so wonderful!!  Finally, a few random pics to finish out the month:
