GEARING UP FOR 6TH GRADE

 AUGUST 2022

August kicked off with some special time with friends.  Jett had a sleep over with his buddy, Carter.

We wanted one more vacay before the hectic-ness of school started.  We spent a week in our Trailer & at one of our most favorite camp parks, Blue Water RV Resort.  The Carter's joined us for the first half & then the Ruston's came down & joined us for a few days at the end.  We are so blessed to have such wonderful friends but especially to have the opportunity to spend this time as a family.  We did lots of swimming, fishing, walking on the beach searching for shells & even took the Ruston's to The Guitar Shop in downtown Galveston.

Well, we had to kick off the sand & get back to reality.  It was time to get home and start preparing these TWEENS for 6th grade!!  Haircuts, school shopping (which is always quite comical with Rich), school supplies, etc.  But, to ensure we have enough energy for all of that... we started with pancakes!!

Our Tour of Spring Branch Middle School was so fun!  We got to walk through their schedules and go to each class.  We met the principal, talked with coaches and even picked up lunch menus. Can't believe my babies are going to middle school!

One of the funnest, new traditions of their new school is the Powder Puff football game.  The girls play football & the boys dress up & cheer the girls on.  Jett & Delilah both did awesome & we are so proud of them for doing something new & stepping out of their comfort zones.

On the Sunday before school starts, each year, we always have Sundaes on Sunday!  It's just the perfect way to round out a fun-filled Summer.

Another date night for Rich & I with the Handke's.  A yummy dinner out and then drinks at Bourbon & the Branch.

WELCOME TO 6TH GRADE, KIDDOS!!  6:30am sure did come early but they were up and ready to take on the new year by storm.

Their first week was a huge success!  They both made new friends; managed to get to all of their classes on time; loved the lunch options & little Ms Delilah was even recognized as Wrangler of the Week.  I received the sweetest email from one of her teachers that just made my heart burst with pride!
