SEPTEMBER: School & Birthday Celebrations

There's absolutely NO other way I'd rather celebrate my time on this Earth than with my beautiful family, camping in the wonderful outdoors. And I was blessed to do just that for my 53rd birthday.  We spent 3 fabulous days in New Braunfels, at Camp Fimfo.  We swam; rode the water slides; took walks; ate our meals outdoors; played in the river; rented a poolside cabana & drank bouji drinks.  53 is going to be a fantastic year!

We came home on my actual birthday & I was able to talk Rich & the twins into going out for some sushi.  Surprisingly, they were all up for it and even tried it!  They liked some and then there were a couple of bites that didn't go down all that smoothly.  All in all, it was a fabulous day & I feel so blessed!
Finally, I celebrated my birthday one more time with friends, with dinner at Verde Bistro & drinks at Bourbon & Branch.  I'm such a lucky girl to be surrounded with such awesome friends & family!
My sweet friends, Jennifer Starr & Matt Beebe are tying the knot!  So, we were off to find just THE perfect dress!  She truly looked like a fairytale princess.

After a full year off from sports, thanks to Covid, Jett & Delilah were excited about getting back on the fields, for baseball & softball.  And soooo were we!
As parents, we always hope & pray that we are raising good humans. We're tough on Jett & Delilah.  Maybe sometimes a little too tough.  But, it's so important to both Rich & I that our kids learn & show respect; always use good manners; and are kind to those around them.  So, when they are acknowledged at school and among their peers for doing just that... our hearts burst with pride!  Delilah recieved the ASES Character Award for RESPECT and Jett recieved the "Mighty Maverick Award" from the principal for his "leadership".  I am so proud of them!
Delilah ran for Student Council again, for 5th grade.  While she originally ran for the office of Parliamentarian, but didn't win, she DID earn a spot for 5th Grade Class Representative!  Let's just hope that her political career ends when she graduates.

Throughout the month we had several outtings with friends & neighbors.  One of which was a Chamber of Commerce Event, with just the ladies, called Diva Night.  It was fun to get all dolled up, drink some wine & bid on various auctioned items.
Another great day was spent with our dear friends, Katie & Jaston Bivens, sipping wine in Fredericksburg.  Fantastic wines & even better company!
What's more fun than a wine tasting? Learning to make mozzarella cheese while drinking wine! Another fine afternoon spent with the Bivens & Bates.  We drank, ate & giggled a little too hard, during our lesson.
FATHER TIME NEEDS TO SLOW THE CLOCK DOWN!! Jett & Delilah turned 11 years old!!  We made each of them a special sign for their bedroom doors, showing just how many years, months, weeks, etc, it's been, since they were born.  (And, YES!  We even took into account the 1 extra minute that Jett was born before Delilah!)  Then, for lunch, we picked up McDonalds and had lunch with them at their school.
As soon as that school bell rang, we were there, travel trailer in tow, to pick Jett & Delilah up from school and headed to Kerrville, Tx, to go camping for a long weekend.  Once we set up camp, we met up with Aunt carol & Uncle David for a quiet dinner on the river.  Jett was over-the-moon excited to get to go for a spin in Uncle david's race car!

The next day the Strottner's and the Carter's drove in to camp with us. For the day of their birthday celebration, Grandy, Clarence, Milagros & Brisa also came in.  The theme of their birthday party this year was Icecream but, since it was also at the beginning of October, the campground had a Haunted Hay Ride.  The kids dressed in costumes & we had a blast, while they screamed bloody murder!!  We spent the entire weekend swimming, playing on the water slides, fishing, candy bar bingo, putt-putt golf, mining for treasures, playing volleyball, riding bikes, dined al fresco & even had a water balloon war!  These memories will be sure to last a lifetime!

And, of course, ending with a few extra photos from the month of September:
