JULY 2025
I'll start this months post by saying that yes, this year our 4th of July (the whole month, really) looked very different from years past. We usually spend 8-10 days on Crystal Beach, in a beach house, right on the ocean, enjoying much needed family time. But, this year, was different. Delilah's dance studio, ADC, participates every year in a dance competition, National's, right after the 4th, & it's always in Galveston, at Moody Gardens. So, this year we just couldn't' find the funds nor the time to do it all.
Soooo, Delilah & I spent 4 nights & 5 days in Galveston for the competition & Rich & Jett stayed back & had some boy-time of their own.
But, first...Since Rich worked this year on the actual holiday, 4th of July, we had the Carter's over for a bbq & some pool time.
Jett volunteered with some other tennis friends, to work at the 4th of July Festival at Jumbo. It started to pour down rain but before it got too bad, he ran into some sweet friends and had a great time.
Talking about that rain... it started nice and slow...
But, as the Holiday went on, the rain worsened & everything started to flood. Sadly, many lost their lives (including children attending Mystic Camp). It's still unbearable to even think about. It will no doubt go down in history as one of the worst flooding in Texas history.
With Rich at work, Jett, Delilah & I just stayed home and stayed dry.
Now, we are off to Galveston for the National's Dance competition, in Galveston, Tx. It wouldn't be a road trip without a stop at Bucky's!

Upon arrival the girls all met up at Moody to celebrate the Senior dancers, with some cupcakes.
Our view for the week was pretty awesome!
Perfect morning for a quick walk on the beach:
Now, for the dancing...
The girls & us mommas still had some time to squeeze in some fun at Pleasure Pier, eating dinner & just relaxing.
While we were away at National's, the boys hung out, went to a drive in movie & enjoyed their time alone, without us!
Since we started attending a new church, Hillside, we have been hoping for the twins to get involved. I was thrilled for them to attend their first evening at the Teen Bible Study.
Delilah spent a couple of nights with Brisa. They went roller skating, ate out & went thrifting.
While she did that, Rich was on shift so it was just Jett & I for Saturday evening church.
We absolutely love when Brisa comes out to Spring Branch to spend time with our family. Delilah stayed pretty busy but Brisa & I did a little shopping, cooking and catching up.
Jett was invited to attend a Tennis event in Houston with some other players from JTT. They spent the night in a hotel, played LOTS of tennis & over all, had a wonderful time.
YUMMY homemade ice cream sandwiches!
The neighboring ranch, The Knibbe Ranch, offered a tour of their beautiful property, to the folks that live in our neighborhood. Me & the kids loaded up and enjoyed every second of learning all about the history & happenings of Knibbe Ranch.
We always get a little sad when the time comes for Brisa to go home.
EXCITING DAY... Silverado uniform pick up day!
While I ended up in the hospital for a gallbladder removal, Delilah had a sleepover at a friends house. The next evening, Rich, Jett & D went to church before coming up to visit me in my hospital room.
And, now for some random photos of the month:
