AN AMAZING APRIL

 APRIL 2023

Nothing like starting yet another month off with more friend sleep overs!  I feel so blessed that Jett & Delilah have such sweet friends in their lives.

I made a few little Easter treats for Delilah & her girlfriends. She's still at that age where she loves gifting her friends special things.
Easter has always been a favorite around our house.  Hidden Easter baskets; egg hunts; yummy food; adult Easter egg hunt; friends; family; & lots of laughs.
The day after Easter Rich took Jett & his buddy, Carter, downtown to the Fire Station.  Meanwhile, I spent the afternoon with Delilah & Rachel dying Easter eggs.

To show Delilah how excited I am for her becoming a Silver Star for SBMS, I wanted to buy her a little something.  I found the dantiest silver start necklace.
More softball with The Angels:
For Rich's birthday we planned the neatest camping, with some friends, the Strottner's & the Carter's.  We spent 2 nights at Camp Fimfo, in New Braunfels.  That resort is right next to White Water Amphitheater which just happen to be hosting Wille Nelson in concert.  So, we dragged some chairs (& pizza & drinks) to the river & were able to listen to the entire concert.  It was a fast but fun weekend that we will never forget.

One of Jett's electives for 6th grade was Art.  He really ended up loving it and doing quite well.  Here are some of my favorites from the school year:

Delilah & her softball team, The Angels, are still going strong!

The Twins middle school hosted an evening where all parents could come out & see all of the wonderful things that the students have learned & clubs that they've participated in over the last 8 months.  Delilah's GT class organized a Greek evening.  Delilah's specific table applied Greek themed tattoos while others had humus and crackers to snack on, maps, etc & all of the kiddos were dressed in amazing Greek costumes.  Such a fun night.
The Spring Branch Middle School hosted an evening so all of the current and new Silver Stars (dance team) & cheerleaders could show off their progress.  A little glimpse of all of the fun that is in store for us next year!
I am definitely not a fan of Assessment testing... especially the STAAR test!  But, I do feel like learning HOW to test, with limited anxiety, is an important life skill.  So, on the morning of their STAAR tests I always make sure they have a good breakfast & even a little treat to get them through the day. And one of Delilah's teacher's made each of her students a laminated bookmark with a special note.
Back in January Chris decided to make the move back to Boston.  So, her visit, to help celebrate Rich's birthday, was very welcomed.  Jett & Delilah were so excited to hug her neck & fill her in on all that has happened over the last 3 months.
For Rich's actual birthday we met with family for a yummy dinner at Longhorn Steakhouse.  The food was great and the company even better!  After dinner, at home, Rich opened his gifts!
We celebrated another special birthday in the month of June.  A group of friends all go together at Jen Beebe's to wish her a very happy birthday!
Just like last year, Delilah's softball coach arranged for the second annual Parents versus girls softball game.  It was blazing hot BUT the 'Rents took home the W, again!!
We finished up the month of April visiting with Grandy, game night & donuts before she headed off to the airport.
