M IS FOR MAY & MOTHER'S DAY

First thing, right off of the bat in May, 2021, our sweet friends, Jennifer Starr & Matt Beebe, got engaged!  After "she said yes" a group of us met up in New Braunfels to celebrate.  So excited for them and this new chapter in their lives.

With the Twins growing at lightening speed, one evening it got me to that I couldn't remember the last time I was able to carry them to bed.  So, I just HAD to give it a try!  Whew!  Soon, they will be as big as me.
My second favorite Holiday (only second to Christmas, of course) occurs in May... MOTHER'S DAY!  The day that I get to celebrate my hardest yet most rewarding job... being Jett & Delilah's Mommy.  We had some friends, family & neighbor's over; at brisket; the kids swam; & just relaxed outside.  I received some incredible "coupons" from my babies & took every opportunity I could to hug & kiss on them.
Rich took these amazing photos of Jett & Delilah, while he was video taping something for me for Mother's Day.  It was a video of him asking them random questions about me.  Their answers we both hysterical and heartfelt.  These are my favorite types of gifts!
Some time in Spring of 2021 Jett & Delilah decided that they both wanted to learn how to play the guitar.  So, we enrolled them in lessons at ASAH Studio & they were doing great!  We were so thrilled with the progress that they had made, when we had the opportunity to see them perform at their recital.  Afterwards, to celebrate, we took them to eat at Aye Chiwawa.
Some of our sweet friends, the Handke's, moved away not long ago.  Jett was missing his friend, Carter, so I suggested that he write him a letter.  He did just that and included pokemon cards & a picture of he & Delilah.  Jett was thrilled when Carter sent him a letter back!
We finally made it... to the end of the school year!!! We Distanced Learned for the entire school year!  It wasn't easy but we made it work AND we even enjoyed parts of it.  We grew as a family; were able to slow down again; ate most dinners together & did our part to try & keep loved ones safe while adjusting to a new life & world with Covid 19.
To show their 4th grade teacher's just how much we appreciated all that they did to help us stay on track, we took them an End-Of-Year bag... a beach bag complete with snacks, drinks & items for Summer fun!
When we took the bags up to the school for the teacher's, we were told that Ms. Delilah had earned the MILLION WORDS award... for reading 1 million words over the course of the school year.  They gave her a little treat for being such a rockstar!  Before we left, we snagged a quick pic of them in front of the sign, with my name & logo on it.
Right before the end of the school year we decided to meet up with the Strottner's & go CAMPING!!!  We headed to Kerrville, to By The River RV Park, & it was exactly what we all needed to unwind after this unprecedented year of Distance Learning.

On May 25th we celebrated a VERY special puppy's first birthday.  Diesel turned 1 year old so Delilah made him a puppy-approved cake & we even sang the birthday song to him.  He is certainly a hand full but we love this guy with all of our hearts!
Soon after we returned home from camping it was the last day of school, as 4th graders, for Jett & Delilah.  There were some quick "good byes" on-line & then I took them to have a special breakfast at a restaurant called Darlene's, in Spring Branch.
After a huge breakfast & the rest of the kids got out of school, we had some neighbors over to celebrate & swim.  We followed that up with dinner & play time at The Branch.  BRING ON SUMMER!
Ya can't start Summer break without decorating the 3-Tier tray...
Well, the day finally came that Jett WANTED to cut his hair.  As most everyone knows, we had been letting it grow out for quite some time, with the occasional trim, of course.  There were a few tears right at first, but he quickly grew to appreciate how much cooler he felt with the hair gone away from his neck.  Either way, my boy is one handsome guy!

I was happy to have the chance to meet up with Paula Lowry-Conley, and her family, for Happy Hour at Stone Works on a Friday evening.  Pete & Judy Koletar were there, as was Barry, his new girlfriend, Melanie & a few other friends.
One of our sweet neighbor's, Falon Towry, had a birthday & we were more than happy to celebrate with her!  We hung out around their pool, at some delicious bbq & the kiddos played all day. I love calling these folks friends & neighbors!
To honor Memorial Day we spent another day around the pool, with  neighbors & friends.  It was a great way to spend the day.
And here are just a few pictures that I didn't want to leave out:
