Wow! I can't even wrap my brain around the fact that our Summer break is already 2/3 over! July was such an amazing month! The 4th of July celebration; sleep-over's; trips to the beach; playing in our very own pool; camps; and so much more! It's been a steamy, hot Summer but we are sure making the best of it!
We started the month off perfectly with something that Jett & Delilah have been wanting to do for a couple of years now... A SLEEP OVER!! They were so excited to each pick a friend to stay. Jett chose Owen and Delilah chose Olivia. They swam (so much so that I thought they were growing fins); had a pizza dinner; watched a movie, snacking on popcorn and candy; then, woke in the morning to swim some more! It was fabulous & we are ALL excited about the next one!
Next, was the 4th of July. What an amazing day!!! We spent the Holiday with friends & neighbors at the Teeples lake house, at Canyon Lake. It was the first time Jett & Delilah had actually been IN the lake and they had a ball! John was kind enough to take them on a boat ride and Rich and Delilah even went tubing behind the boat!! We ended the night with an awesome fireworks display put on by our gang as well as the their neighbors.
The world lost a very beautiful soul on July 5th. Rich's grandmother, Josephine Eno, passed away at 96 years old. She lived such a long and fulfilled life! As with all of our loved ones that have gone before her, we will make sure to keep her memory alive for the Twins.
With Rich gone to Boston for Great-Granny's funeral, me & the kids had lots of fun passing the time with board games; swimming; ice cream; & coloring posters for daddy's homecoming.
Mid month me and the Twins packed up and headed to Port Aransas for a quick beach trip with my Team Lead, Sandra. We spent the day with Sandra & her family and some more of her friends in the sand and surf! We were having a fantastic time jumping waves & building sandcastles... UNTIL... Jett was stung by a stingray! My poor buddy!! It was definitely a pain that he had never experienced before. It's taken almost a month for it to heal, after an urgent care visit; trips to the Dr; antibiotics; creams; etc.
With such a busy summer Rich & I hadn't really had many opportunities for Date-nights. So, instead, we've become really proficient at DAY-dates. We met up with Kevin and Angela and headed for Wimberley. We had a delicious lunch at the Leaning Pear then hit up a few stores and a winery. Before making our way back to Spring Branch, we stopped at the Ben Milam Distillery for a quick taste and drink. We always have a great time with these special, lifelong friends!
Jett attended the first 1/2 of the Revo Baseball camp. Unfortunately he had to skip the last 2 days because his stingray wound was just not healing. But, while Jett was sweating it out the first couple of days, me and Rachel took the girls to breakfast and then Delilah hunkered down with Grandy, for their own, little, girl-adventure.
I've lived in SA since 1980 and have never eaten at Big Lou's Pizza. Well, we changed that!! The Strottner's joined us for some of the best (& definitely the LARGEST) pizza I've ever had.
Although baseball season has been over for a while, we finally got around to picking up Jett's photos of himself and the Team. They even gave me my very own plaque for being the Team's sponsor. We are so proud of this boy!
A few random photos from the month:
Jett & Delilah, putting their time in with me on the J.O.B. They're THE best assistant's a gal could ask for!
Looking forward to all of the fun that August is sure to bring!!
Until then...
