It makes me sad to include this sad news, but, it is a reality that we lived... At the onset of March our SAFD Family lost another firefighter. He was diagnosed with Cancer & ultimately succumbed to the illness. Rich & I attended the funeral where once again my heart shattered into a million pieces.
Jett & Delilah both signed up for Spring Ball, for the Bulverde Little League. I volunteered to be a proud sponsor of their baseball & softball teams. We had a fantastic morning at the Opening Day Ceremonies. Brisa joined us for the weekend and we stopped for dinner & icecream & loved every second.Throughout the whole month we had numerous practices and games, where we can really see just how much the Twins have improved.
Our Spring Break of 2022 was one for the books... We took our very first ski trip, as a family! The Ruston family joined us for a road trip to Angel Fire, New Mexico for 6 glorious days in the snow!!

On the way to New Mexico, we stopped along the way, on Route 66, and stayed the night at a hotel. We woke up the next morning, ate a wonderful brunch and then made the rest of the trek to our amazing VRBO rental, tucked away in the mountains! (And, of course, I had to make us all matching tees for our first vacay together!)
Once we arrived in New Mexico, and started getting closer to our home-away-from-home, the vision of the snow and mountains took my breath away! Even better, once we got to the home, we couldn't believe it... it was even better than the pictures online. 4 stories, 5 bedrooms, a gameroom with shuffleboard & tv, a spacious kitchen and windows, windows, windows!
As soon as we arrived to the home, the boys jumped out, grabbed the snow shovels & went right to work! Soon after, all of the kiddos, including Rich & Stephen, ran to play in the snow!During our stay we did a little bit of EVERYTHING! We went snow-tubing; skiing; shopping; made dinners at home; ate s'mores; played games & even watched movies. We crammed as much in to our Spring Break week as we possibly could!
We celebrated St. Patrick's Day while we were vacationing... We made a little scavenger hunt for the kiddos where they found treats at the end.
We took another excursion to the Rio Grande Gorge Bridge. We walked across, took some photos & reveled in the beauty! It's times like those where we feel so very small.
After a week spent in a snow-filled paradise, it was time to load up & head home. Good-bye, New Mexico... Until next time!
Once home it was time to get ready for Easter:
