TWINS FIRST HAIRCUTS

So, at 19 months & 3 weeks, we figured it was about time to get Jett & Delilah's hair cut.  While Delilah could pull off some unruly hair with a simple click of a hair-bow... Jett's resemblance to Terry Bradshaw was beyond cute.

 BEFORE THE CUTS

They both did really well.  The nice ladies at "Cool Kuts" put a cartoon on the little TV's in front of them & went to work...
After a few snips (& a scream or two:) our little babies magically turned into little "kids" right before our eyes.  We were very proud at how well they behaved & of course, how beautiful/handsome they are!

A GREAT START TO 2012

Well, the start of this new year has shaped up to be a very busy, fun-filled one.  Rich is doing wonderful at the Fire station; I've started a new, part-time job as an assistant to the Owner of RAM Realty Group, Randal McLeaird; and the Twins are going 90 to nothing & growing like weeds.  It is now the beginning of April & Jett weighs 27.2 pounds, Delilah weighs 26 pounds & both are about 31 inches tall.  They both have a mouthful of chompers & talk/babble non-stop all day.  Their vocabulary includes:  ball, cookie, cake, bebe's (berries), reeree's (raisins), DaDa, Momma, book, fan, car, pease (please), yes, pee pee, cock (we're hoping he's saying "car") and a few more that I'm sure I'm forgetting.  In fact, we are quite positive that they understand a ton more than they let on:)  And, not only are they walking, they are running everywhere... normally in two different directions!!!  They definitely keep us on the move!

We started out 2012 by taking a trip to visit Granddaddy in Bayou Vista.  We had a great time swinging on the patio, over looking the water; going for walks w/ them in their strollers (although Delilah insists on pushing hers the whole time); playing at the neighborhood park & running wild on the beach.  This trip was particularly special because it was the 9th anniversary of my Mom's death & her birthday.  So, we took the Twins to the cemetery to visit her & leave a picture of them from Christmas.  She would have been so madly in love with these little stinkers!!!  After the cemetery we met Mandy, Cole & Kylie for lunch & then all headed back to Granddaddy's to play until nap time.
Catch us if you can!
This way to the beach...

Just a little later in January the Twins had two very special visitors... Great Granny & Aunt Kathy came all the way from Braintree, MA. to meet them.  It was such a wonderful weekend filled with wonderful times & great memories.

February was just as busy with Valentines Day, another trip to Granddaddy's & play dates at the park with Jett & Delilah's best friend, Owen Strottner.

In March we had another very special visit... David & Jen came down to San Antonio to see us & visit with Jett & Delilah.  It was a short visit but so very nice to see them & catch up.

Wonderful visit w/ Uncle David & Aunt Jen

Early this month, we joined the Strottner's in a little jaunt to Bass Pro Shop to have the kids take their picture with the Easter Bunny.  While things didn't go as planned we were able to "make" a photo where all 3 kiddos were at looking all in the same general direction!
Michelle (Owens Mommy) was sweet to offer to take pictures of the Twins in the beautiful Bluebonnets.  They turned out sooo wonderful... Thank you so much, Michelle!!!

Since Rich had to work Easter Sunday we celebrated it a day early... Grandy came over with some special treats; we let Jett & Delilah search for eggs in the yard; & then we were invited to a fun Easter egg hunt at the Strottner's.

Say "cheeeeeese"!

Jett especially loves what he finds IN the eggs!

On Easter morning we brought the Twins downstairs to "search" for what the Easter Bunny had left for them... The chocolate eggs were a true favorite.  (Definitely MY children!:)  Later on that morning me, Jett & Delilah loaded up & headed off to the Fire Station (with lots of treats in tow) to visit Rich & the rest of our Fire Family.  When we arrived Rich had hidden some eggs for them to find.  Unfortunately, the ants found them first:)  But, they still had a great time... or maybe that was from the sugar rush they had from eating chocolate covered peeps!!

"Look what the Easter Bunny left for me!"

"Look what was in my egg!!!"

Happy Easter 2012

Although life does seem a bit hectic these days I'm going to do my best to post my blogs more often.  Besides, there is always something exciting happening at the Anderson Asylum.

IT TRULY IS "A WONDERFUL LIFE"

Well, it's been 3 months since my last post... Needless to say it has been a busy Fall/Winter & Holiday Season.  But, soooo much fun!!!  The "Beans" are changing from our babies into toddlers right before our eyes!
With Halloween & Turkey Day fast approaching we thought it might be fun to take the Twins to a Pumpkin Patch!!  I think they were totally in awe of all of the "big, orange things"!  Jett tried to crawl right through them while Delilah was busy making her way through the whole Patch via the HAY!!  I'm pretty sure Rich & I enjoyed this outing the most.

For Halloween I decided it would be fun for the whole Family to participate... So, I borrowed an idea from Dr. Seuss's "A Cat in the Hat".  Jett & Delilah were Thing 1 & Thing 2; I was Thing Mom: & Rich totally ROCKED the costume of The Cat in the Hat!!!
We had an awesome evening!  We ordered in pizza (in the shape of a pumpkin, no doubt:); Grandy came over to join in the fun; & then we hit the streets with our friends & neighbors, The Strottners.  Once again, I think it was Mommy & Daddy that had more fun!

For Thanksgiving I wanted to make Jett & Delilah something cute to wear.  So, with the little help from a website called Pintrist (my new addiction) I made them Turkey-Onesies.  We packed up everything, including Homer-Dog & headed to Bayou Vista to see Grandaddy.  The kiddos had fun sitting & reading in Grandaddy's lap; eating their very first Turkey Day meal (which did not go over very well... I'm assuming that since Goldfish were not on the menu); and took several trips to the neighborhood park to swing & slide on the slides!  It was a wonderful weekend!
This Christmas Season was the type of holiday that Rich & I had dreamt of our whole lives!  The kids were at an age where they could enjoy it, too (maybe not understand the true meaning or even about Santa Clause but it was still amazing).  We took our annual Family Christmas photo... what an experience:)  While they did wonderful meeting Santa for the very first time, our portrait session left a lot to be desired!
As with Thanksgiving, I got in to the Crafty-mood & made a few different shirts for Jett & Delilah to wear throughout the month.  Rich said he was just happy that I ran out of time or HE would've been walking around in a reindeer & snowman shirt, too!! LOL!
Trying to make the most of the Special Season we watched Frosty the Snowman; went to see the spectacular Christmas light display in Johnson City; had portraits done; helped Grandy decorate her tree & let the Twins eat much more "junk" than we should've:)

Christmas Eve was nice & quiet... We just hung out with the babies all day, playing.  Then, that evening Clarence, Milagros, Grandy & Dora came over to visit & play a few games of Dominoes (our new favorite game:)
Bright & early Christmas morning Grandy & Grandpa came over & we all snuck upstairs to wake up the Twins... we bust into their room singing "We wish you a Merry Christmas"!  They had no idea what was going on but so happy to see every ones faces:)  Under the tree Jett & Delilah found that Santa had left them a matching set of "big-boy/girl chairs" & a bright red wagon for 2!!  They were so cute... smiling from ear to ear as we took them for a spin around the kitchen.
Later in the afternoon Clarence & Milagros joined us & we spent the rest of the day playing; eating tons of pizza (the new Anderson tradition:); visiting & playing games.

It was truly a magical day with many memories made!  We know that with each passing year, Christmas will be even more special as the Anderson's fill each Season with love & laughter.  We are truly blessed!
